There are many stories about Texas Hold’em, but the most-believed one says that the game was played for the very first time in Robstown, Texas, around 1900. Since then, Texas Hold’em has only grown in popularity, and a lot of credit goes to the World Series of Poker Tournament.

Rules to play Texas Hold’em

At least two and maximum six players can play Gamentio poker. A dealer distributes two cards face down known as hole cards to each player in the first round, called ‘Pre-Flop’. In next rounds, the dealer deals five community cards that are same for all the players. The second round begins with Flop and the dealer deals three cards that are kept in the middle of the table face up for all remaining players to share and make their hands. Next comes Turn, an additional community card face up at the middle of the table. The last and the fifth community card that is dealt is called River. Now, the players have five community cards. Players have to make the best hand of five cards by using two cards distributed individually in the very beginning and three of the five community cards.

There are three variants of Texas Hold’em -  no-limit Hold'em, pot-limit Hold'em and limit Hold'em. Gamentio poker is no-limit Hold’em in which players are allowed to raise any amount over the minimum raise and put at stake all the chips the player has at the table, popularly known as all-in bet. On the other hand, the maximum raise in pot-limit Hold’em is equal to the current size of the pot. In limit Hold’em, big blind is set as the maximum limit for bets and raises during the first two rounds of betting, called as pre-flop and flop. During the next two rounds of betting (turn and river), bets and raises have to match the double the amount of the big blind.

Now, let’s talk about other variants of poker itself as they are played with a bit different rules compared to Texas Hold’em. In contrast to Texas Hold’em, Omaha begins with four cards distributed face down to each player. The rest of the rounds are the same wherein players are dealt five community cards face up in the middle of the table. The players can make their best hands of five cards by using only two of the four hole cards distributed to them individually and three of the five community cards.

Before Texas Hold’em rose in popularity, Seven Card Stud was the most popular variant of all poker games, especially in the US. At least two and maximum eight players can play this game. In the first round, three hole cards are dealt to each player with two cards face down and one face up. An additional card face up is dealt to the players in the second round. Then, two rounds with an additional card face up to each of the remaining players. The final round involves dealing of one face down card. In all, surviving players have seven cards at their disposal - three face down cards and four face up cards. The objective is to make the best hand of five cards and there is no concept of community cards in Seven Card Stud.

With the reinvention to 3D and a gamut of emotion packed features (rejoice, admiration, grunt etc.), fans of online casino games will surely fall in love with enthralling Texas Hold’em on Gamentio.
