Card games have been enjoyed for thousands of years in some parts of the world, and though primitive, they still provide heaps of fun to this very day. Solitaire card games in particular, have withstood the test of time very effectively and with so many free Solitaire card games available to choose from even now, you can see why. Solitaire may not be as exciting and exhilarating as Poker, but Solitaire games are still very enjoyable, and versatile as it turns out. You see, there are a number of different versions of Solitaire card games currently available to be enjoyed, which is why we’re going to be looking at 3 of these versions in today’s article. Here’s a look at 3 popular versions of Solitaire.

Spider Solitaire – The first of the three Solitaire card games we’re going to be looking at today is Spider Solitaire. The basic object of spider solitaire is for you to assemble 13 cards of a specific suit, in a sequence of ascending order from ace, which is low, to the king, which is high. The cards should be assembled on the top of a pile. Whenever a player makes 13 cards of a specific suit, the cards are then removed and permanently discarded from the game. When all suits have been played out completely, whoever was fortunate enough to do so will be classed as the winner. The game is played with not one, but two packs of playing cards, which only helps to add to the excitement.

Pyramid Solitaire – Pyramid solitaire is arguably one of the most exciting free solitaire card games currently in existence. The game is played with 52 cards, so a standard deck, without jokers included. The dealer will then deal a pyramid shape from the deck which is 7 cards in height that descends so that it is seven cards wide at the base as well. The pyramid will consist of 28 cards in total, which are all displayed face up. The game then begins with the remaining 24 cards. 3 cards in separate columns are then turned over. The basic premise of the game is that all cards should be removed from the pyramid. Only fully-exposed cards can be removed, so if there is anything overlapping they can’t be removed.

Golf Solitaire – The last of the solitaire card games we’re going to look at today is one known as golf solitaire. If you haven’t heard of this game, you may have heard of it being referred to as ‘patience’. The game is one of the more fast-paced card games out there, which means that it doesn’t require very much thought or thinking times. if you’re just looking for a quick and exciting card game to enjoy, Golf Solitaire is the perfect game for you. Played with a standard deck of 52 cards, the dealer will deal out 7 columns. Of these columns, each one consists of 5 face-up cards which are slightly overlapping. The card at the bottom of each column is the one which you play with. Other cards are then placed face down. This forms what is known as the stock. The cards can then be turned one at a time from the stock to a waste pile. The game is over when the stockpile does not exist.
